Possibly the shortest write up in rugby fool has ever written consists of Scotland’s upsetting loss to the Argies in the dying minutes courtesy of a try from George Lucas Gonzalez Amorossimo despite some wonderful drops by Contemponi and the marvellously named Sweaty Ruaridh Jackson.

 

Scotland were ultimately pipped 13-12 in the Cup’s ripper so far, and other results had no such flamboyancy in their namesake ranks, but did copy a 66-12 win for Ireland over Russia/ England 67-3 Romania and Wales’s 81-7 demolition over the Nam’s, which despite meaning ‘man’ in Vietnamese they held no courtship to equality in any department.

 

The Japs and Cannucks opted for another draw, as was their last outing in the World Cup, but this time with an elongated scoreline of 23 each as opposed to 12 back in 2007 and the Iti’s disposed of the Yanks 27-10

The Big Games this weekend are; the old foe of England v Scotland, and just because the world and his wife will opt for the southerners don’t think the Jocks will be listening… having said that and despite heroically losing to the Blacks last year then coming back the next week to beat the Boks I can’t see a repeat performance from the men in kilts and so will go this week to the Rose by 12.

 

As for South Africa versus Samoa; again, it’s a sweet thought to think the Specificers will conjure something, but don’t hold your breath – the Boks for the fool are the team to beat in this comp.

 

Wales will smash Fiji – yep. As too will Ireland Italy
