Loads of stuff…
Super 15’s:
Sharks finished off the brumbies 34-16 after being down 16 zip. The Durbanites hefty forwards got to grip with the situation and went on to post 7 points every ten minutes. Steve Sykes helped himself to one try and in the process added a few points to fool’s cats/ Crusaders are coming good even with a zillion injuries. They beat Stormers 20-14/ Tah’s had a two try win over Force 20-15. And to be fair the Force have only got themselves to blame. Game management is what is required here – and to keep hold of the bloody ball. Captain Nathan Sharpe is getting a little despondent the way they can out smart any opposition for 40, 50, 60 minutes then simply drop off the game. In the end the Tah’s only had to make 44 tackles and cruised the rucks and mauls stats by 105-54. Hooker John Uliaga went over for his first try following 26 phases/ Chiefs described their 20-7 win over the Highlanders as, ‘ugly’, but they’re happy with it nonetheless. Brendon ‘shiny’ Leonard and Liam Messam scored/ Cheetah’s thumped the Lions 53-19 – hopefully Butch James can pull the cat out of the bag next week when Lions play Brumbies and Butch plays after only one training session fresh from Bath where he’s just finished their season/ Reds dissected the Rebels 33-18 with the Cip still grabbing the headlines by not playing, then subsequently dumped from their two game tour of South Africa for being a lad/ And Blues stay top of the ladder with their 17-11 win over ‘Canes.
Heineken Cup;
Leinster v Northampton is on 21st May, Cardiff, 5p.m. local time, which with the Welsh could be anytime, as they live in perpetual darkness underground anyway. Held at the Millennium Stadium it is billed as the world’s biggest club rugby final. For a platinum hospitality ticket you could get; a suite kitted for 16 people on the half way line with its own private balcony, glass of Champagne on arrival, 3 course pre-match scoff, post match snacks, complimentary bar consisting of Heineken, cider, house wine and soft drinks - all served three hours before kick off and up to hour and half after final whistle, a programme and ref radio for each guest, staff and Sky TV – all for 349 – sheep come extra.
Aviva Premiership;
Hot news was Leeds departure from the premiership following their loss to Saints 24-31. The Yorkshire side were up 24-0 at one stage. They go down on point’s difference just slightly out-pipped by Newcastle. Coming up from the Championship looks like Worcester who have to play Cornish Pirates in a play-off, but should the Pasties win that game they’ll not go up on account of having an unsuitable ground – harsh fact, but fact/ In other games Sarries beat Quins 16-13 and they’ll play Gloucester in the play-offs/ Leicester beat the Irish and they will play Northampton in the other play-off.
Magners:
- why am I still on this page?
Ulster beat Dragons 20-13 but both teams miss the play-offs/ Treviso taught Edinburgh a lesson 31-6/ Scarlets held the Blues 38-23 at Parc y Scarlets/ And Munster’s win over Connaught 22-6 means they see Ospreys in the play-off.
Top 14:
Toulouse beat Clermont 15-6 and will play Montpellier in their play –off/ Stade Francais went down to Racing Metro 92 – 16-29 – Racing now play Castres who beat Perpignan 29-10/ Other results were La Rochelle’s loss to Bayonne 17-30/ Biarritz’ win over Bourgoin 22-18/ And Agen beat Brive 36-10
fool says:
Rebels will beat the Bulls in Bull-land… ha ha, no just kidding… or is he… !
Some shorts:
*Rocky Elsom is staying put in Australia and relates his decision akin to being pregnant, ‘It’s a little bit like being pregnant – you are either done or you are not. And I am not. And at the moment, I don’t have a due date. That’s genuinely the way it is.’
Staying with him up the duff are; Kurtly Beale, James Horwill, Drew Mitchell, Wycliff Palu, Totafu Polato Nou and Lachie Turner.
*Must tip the tit-fer to Exeter, who in their first premiership finished 8th – that’s some step up.
*Neil Back is to quit Leeds following their relegation to the Championship, stating he has, ‘taken them as far as he can.’
*Tom Wood was voted Premiership Player of the Year. The current Saints and England player moved from Worcester and has no plans to go elsewhere. – The new Richard Hill? Just watch him
*Paul Sackey has been axed from Toulon half way through his two year contract, for being well, no good! All Black David Smith is to replace him. Boss Mourad Boudjellal said, ‘As he did not satisfy us, we decided to release him.’ – Must have been a fish out of water in France.
*Michael Owen, Wales’ former captain has spoken out about Gavin Henson’s inclusion to the Welsh squad for their game against the Barbarians next month saying he doesn’t deserve it, ‘I question whether Gavin has earned it.’ – he said, well, quite clearly no he hasn’t but its good to hear you say it Michael, by the way have you earned your Liverpool medal this year!

Tapas & Bodega: bodega, oh baby when you dance like that… Sangria, mojito’s, plenty, plenty, plenty of wine and beer; Plus, The best Spanish cuisine in Saigon this side of Spain - Which is just to the right of Vietnam, and perhaps a little off centre of Phuket. Cracking live music too.
A willow the wisp of cricket now:

And now ladies and gentlemen a thribble on the light side:

All change…
Stuart Broad says he won’t be reigning in his aggression now he’s captain of the Twenty 20 team.
Noted for various tussles with the opposition his most memorable was probably a tear up with Pakistani batsman Zulqarin Haider, which resulted in a 50% match fine.
But he knows where he’s coming from or at least where he is now, ‘I feel in a really good place to take on this opportunity.’ – he said.
Nevertheless, he emphasises the need to keep competitive, ‘It’s important to keep the same passion.’, he said in a calm, yet menacing way as he drew the lashes from his back and winced only slightly as he lashed out another strike.
Colly isn’t happy at all, and in fact is furious. After steering England to a world cup and a world record number of T20 wins to-boot, he saw his displacement as a juggernaut of disappointment that came crashing towards him via a phone call from selection boss Geoff Miller.
‘Disbelief’, ‘devastation’, and ‘gutted’ were other terms he used to convey, what is probably, his parting thoughts on English cricket.
Tony Grieg empathised with the former captain saying he has ‘serious sympathy with him.’
Meanwhile Levi stays head boy for the foreseeable future as England’s bigwigs pulled in their latest trick by appointing Alistair Cook as captain for the ODI division.
Having not played the 50 over game for 14 months the management admitted it is a risk and portrayed themselves as entering a ‘brave new world’., which makes you wonder why Daniel Day Lewis didn’t get a look in.
Tony Greig suggested this is Andy Flower’s first mistake and they are playing a game which is, ‘deadly dangerous’. Tony also added ‘gobsmacked’ to Colly’s terminology for his dismissal.
Daniel Day Lewis told Tony to mind his own fucking business or, ‘my daddy will put a bomb in your back garden.’
*Meanwhile the Windies posted a 10 wicket win in Guyana with their final ODI against Pakistan.
Pakistan won the series 3-2 and simply went on the piss after securing it 3-0. With 139 all gone on 41.2 overs. Lendl Simmons hit an unbeaten 77 with Kirk Edwards on 40 in just 23.3 overs
*And Shane Warne is to give up the IPL. At 41 he became the league’s 2nd highest wicket taker on 56 with the Rajasthan Royals. He’s up for grabs as a mentor or coach and in anticipation will sit back in Liz’s knickers and await his de-briefing
It’s early now and… - I’m done
The team that likes roll mops and partying and belts and rum and temptations and feathers and Steve Finn and proverbs and coordinates and pigeons and tiddly winks and Jessie’s! And spin and the Beatles and Buddy Holly and side-show Bob and Ant and Dec and capes and japes and basketball and indoor cricket and psyche and a good rib-dig and loose ends and first balls and a good roasting, and triple tons and whoa-ha-ha’s and cooking and cradles and Yorkshire puddings…and 2010/11 Ashes, and the Gods
Till next week…
GTM: Probably the best set of garden and leisure furniture in the world. See the *classified section under business opportunities for more details.

Other Sports:
As boxing lost Henry Cooper last week, golf saw the departure of one of its finest gentlemen – Seve Ballesteros who died aged 54. Tiger Woods said, ‘he was one of the most talented and exciting golfers to ever play the game’, and then when you look at Tiger, Daley, Fatty Arbuckle and Bruce Forsyth that’s quite the accolade. – In all seriousness, fool doesn’t ‘do’ golf, as you may know, but he did get a wee lump in his throat on this sad news – 54, I mean, it’s not even mid 50’s is it!
In boxing:
Haye’s stirring up the Vlad again, referring to their unification bout of the heavy’s on 2nd July, ‘This is going to be a one-sided dog fight. Klitschko is like a big sloppy, dopey rotweiller who gets patted and fed by the people around him now and then. Me? I’m a British bull terrier, born and bred to fight.’ – Well, at least till your 31, unlike Holfield who at 44 just knocked out bum who hasn’t fought since 2002 – but, it’s a comeback
In F1
Some bloke called Vettel won.
