Seriously, who would have thought the Oil Slick would have been so good without the DC man?

Dubbed The Unshakeables the All Blacks can now and rightly so, call themselves world champions. A rounded performance on par with excellence prevailed throughout this campaign, bar of course the final where they were shit, but good enough to hold a marauding French outfit that battered and rammed and out-skilled their opponents in every aspect apart from the crucial points tally, which went against them 8-7.

A momentary lapse of reason let Tony Woodcock slip through a lineout gap and then it was all France. Thierry Dusautoir finished off a great attack to bring some kind of justice to the final, but Stephen Donald’s penalty in the 45^th minute sealed a fitting reward for a team that is exactly that – a great team.

At least now Graham ‘eyebrows’ Henry can leave the camp knowing his job is finally done; ‘I’ll tell you what a win would bring me – eternal peace’, he said before the game in reference to the badgering he takes from his 95 year-old mum and that I reckon goes for 4.5 million other Kiwis.

Australia took the third spot beating Wales 21-18, but really, who cares? Unless it’s someone like Argentina, where folk can say, ‘hey, don’t knock the Argies, they came third in 2007’, but here, as all the other dead rubbers it’s a non-starter. Nevertheless, hats off to the Wallabies, for they deserved the win and look to have a great future, if they can get the right coach!!!

But overall it was a world cup for the beardies, where I think it was back in 2005 fool said they would make a huge come back, and lo, fool the predictor strikes again.
