Broccoli in Red Hot Sauce
May, 15th 2007 09:10 AM

As those wet days have now arrived in Saigon – tis the season where you now have to put on the immersion to take a warm shower. This'll warm the cockles of your broccoli!

250g broccoli spears (Not cauliflower ears nor indeed that hussy who keeps flashing her minge recently)

1 red pepper (Not capsicum)

1 green pepper (Not chili)

250g mushrooms (magic)

1 onion (Stick a spoon in your mouth when peeling)

4 cloves garlic (Cures everything – put it on your cornflakes)

Olive oil (There’s none other)

Salt and Pepper (Argh push it, push it real good)

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (Nothing to do with dogs)

1 glass of white wine (Cha, like you’ll stop there!)

1 glass water (Yes, very sensible)

Fry the garlic with onion. Add the peppers, mushrooms and broccoli. Turn the mixture often. Add the salt, pepper and cayenne pepper, then the glass of wine and water. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Serve with rice, cous cous or millet. – I’ve got short back and sides, will that do!
