only flop

Things that are really getting on my nose, up my goat and around my wick this week:

 

Only the flop – no flip. Having recently discarded man’s footwear of the 21st century I’ve been accustomed only to flip-flops since Christmas, and his divinity has somehow affiliated me to be at one within his shoes – no socks of course, because that would be German.

 

I’ll try to explain how everything seems to be going in circles when you only have the flop without your flip. They never used to make any noise then I lost them for a while at a party and somehow they got mixed up with someone else’s, so not only did I have to wear someone else’s flip-flops for several weeks till we both worked it out, but his had a perpetual flip, which once you hear it is not only annoying but impossible not to notice from there on in – there on in is also one of my favourite expressions.

 

Now, having my own flip-flops back, they were sweet to the sound of nature against that echoing sound of silence; that was till I went to Chessington’s World of Adventures. On entering the Ocean Tunnel I noticed I had developed a distinct flop, which luckily was paused for several minutes, whilst I studied Sally the buxomed mermaid, albeit only a statue, and then I exited the tunnel and there it was again, a definite flop…, flop…, flop.

 

The wear and tear of flip-flops should appear automatically in stereo to halt the dis synchronisation of both time and sound – without going around the houses, it’s the only way forward. Only the flop - Bastards!
