COMING a CROPPER

‘Coming a cropper’ means falling badly, either physically or as a figure of speech. On a bird the ‘crop’ is the craw in its gullet and to fall on the craw or ‘crop’ meant falling so heavily that even this part of the neck hit the ground – hence ‘coming a cropper’.

Buttery kitchen’s – the first obstacle here is not to say chicken, but then do I look Vietnamese… well, in a certain light, but then I’ve also been told to blend a certain likeness to Oliver Tobias and Charles Bronson, but hey that’s got nothing to do with the kind of mess my missus makes in the chicken whilst cooking lemon cake – door handles, work surfaces, windows, curtains, lavatory seats the inside on my shoe and a toothpick I’d hidden in the couch for a rainy day, which this year happened to be August to the end of October. But I digress, buttery kitchens - Bastards!
