Buzz said the bee, buzz, buzz, buzz. Where there is smoke there is fire. And do not smoke bongs without putting water in the thing first.
The buzz started in Perth, found it's way to the Eastern states of Australia and then the SMS and ‘phones calls started in Ho Chi Minh City. Ben has been arrested, Cousins and Chick have been arrested, Cousins and Chick and some chick have been arrested. Cousins, Chick, some chick who is a cousin of Cousins and another chick with Chick have been arrested. Who came first, the chicken or the egg?
Anyway, Chick was taken into custody and released without charge. Some chick who was driving Chick's car was arrested and this led to two raids that resulted in arrests. Cousins was taken into custody, charged, appeared in court and will be back in court next year after a drugs charge of which he will defend himself vigourously.
Ben Cousins has been sacked by the West Coast after this latest brush with the law and it is more than likely that the AFL will de-register him. The de-registration may only take place when Commandant Andrew returns from holidays in France where he will watch the Rugby World Cup final. West Coast president or CEO, not sure which, Delta Goodrem is on holidays in Italy and now Ben is on a permanent holiday from football. Both he a Aussie bushranger have the epitaph "Such is Life".
Ben who buried good mate Chris Mainwaring last week has a lot of thinking to do.
By the way did Mainy know which way was up as he ended his tragically short life. Leaked toxicology reports show that he had a mixture of cocaine, ecstasy, cannabis, anti-depressants and the acne drug Roaccutane in his body when he died. Can't have a good time with bad skin can you?
Digger was going to tell you all draft this week but finds it all to confusing. One thing is that the guy traded to West Coast by Carlton as part of the Chris Judd deal, Josh Kennedy has an extremely upset grand mother. Nana has been on talk back shows sprouting that her grand son should not have to go to the West Coast next year as he does not want to and she does not want him going there with the culture the club seems to have. Nana versus the Commandant, that could be interesting.
In other draft news former Geelong skipper Stephen King who this year played in 2 Premiership teams in 6 days has been traded to St. Kilda for pick 90 in the pre-season draft.
The Western Bulldogs have started training this week and say the early start is to avoid a late season fade out in 2008. Well getting a few wins on the board in the early part of the season and being finals contenders is a good way to keep the motivation high.
Beijing defeated Tianjin in the first ever all Chinese match.
Denmark defeated Sweden in a tri series that also included another unnamed team.
And that is about it for this week, a week that saw turmoil, drama and agony for all AFL supporters around the globe.
Anyone want to squeeze Digger's black heads?
