During a moment of contemplation I was wondering what sort of entertainment they have at the opening and closing ceremonies of the World Fireworks Championships.

After watching the “entertainment” before the NRL Grand Final I thought maybe the AFL’s entertainment was better.  But hell, it was a toss up.

Sing the national anthem as it was written and don’t try to make it “your own”, leave that for (insert country) Idol.

Aren’t there any types of new talent in Australia.  Christ, both leagues pulled their singers out of the ARIA retirement home.

Tail gate parties?  Another Americanisation.

Memo to the AFL – maybe the pre match entertainment could include an actual game of football!  Nice concept eh.

The AFL trade week has commenced and while I do not expect much to happen it was interesting that names like McIntosh, Lonergan and Prismall came up.

O’Keefe is 100% sure to leave Sydney while Richmond appear very keen on Thompson from Adelaide.  The biggest question of the week is if the AFL honcho’s will allow Ben Cousins to re-register and where he will go if allowed.  St. Kilda is the latest to put their hand up.  Given the Saints proclivity for being party time this would the last place he should go.  Can Geelong still take him with another father-son pick.

Lastly I hear on the grapevine that Johnny O’Keefe and Elvis are being considered for next years finalies.  Bon Scott may also appear.
