Some top matches this round and the one kicking off proceedings on Friday night should be a ripper. Collingwood versus old rival Essendon and both teams in form should provide a decent contest. With Jobe Watson out for the Bombers and Pendlebury back for the Magpies the game swings toward Collingwood continuing their winning run.
Melbourne have advised that president and former superstar Jim Stynes is suffering from cancer and this should steel the players to provide a huge increase in effort in their match against the West Coast. Can the boys do it for Jimmy? Digger says they will dig deep and knock over the Weagles.
By the way, Digger tipped 8 from 8 last week.
Brisbane travel to Adelaide to take on the boys from Alberton and will provide the Power with another loss.
Richmond host Adelaide and will lose. The Tigers did not kick a score in 2 quarters of footy last week and cannot improve enough to clout the Ravens. And bang goes Supercoach with Walker dropped from the Adelaide team.
Hawthorn are really struggling at the moment and it does not get any easier this week when they take on the rampaging Western Bulldogs. Digger says get on the Doggies this week while the hawks fall from grace continues.
Sydney hosts the North Melbourne side at the SCG with BBB hall out after another brain implosion. TTM. Still, Sydney should be able to out score the Kangaroos on their own dung hill.
Ahhhhh, been rubbing the hands together in anticipation for the St. Kilda and Geelong contest. Both sides undefeated, both sides with mercurial forward lines and stingy defenders. Digger reckons it will be a clash for the ages and a very tight affair. St. Kilda is my selection.
And finally, we come to Fremantle hosting Carlton. The Blues were horrid from half way through the second last week and don’t travel well at the best of times. Fremantle the enigma of the AFL. Pavlitch is out for Freo but that is made up by the fact that Armfield is still in for Carlton. A real toss up this one but given the home ground advantage Fremantle to win.
