Gee, wasn’t the St. Kilda versus the Carlton game a ripper.  Looked like the Blues would be blown away early but thye fought back hard and the game went down to the wire.  Great contest.  Betcha Juddy’s nose was a wee bit sore the following day.

Only three matches this weekend as the second part of the split round kicks in.  Essendon will towel up Melbourne.

Sydney Versus Collingwood looks the best game of the weekend when these two meet at the Olympic Stadium and the crowd will give a good indication as to whether the expanded Sydney West team may have a future when they jump in a couple of years time.  Remember that Sydeny could not get a crowd at a final here last year.  Gee this looks an even contest with the ruck contest between Barry Round and Len Thompson having a huge outcome on the result.  Whoever can get it down to their small men in Bobby Skilton and Lou Richards should win the game.  The teams respective full forward in Warwick Capper and Peter McKenna should also both kick bags.  The Swans to win a close one.

Geelong will break the record for the most consecutive interstate wins when they travel west to take on Fremantle.
