...an absolute cracker...

While the Western Bulldogs did it easily against Brisbane, the Collingwood V Adelaide was an absolute cracker.  In 30 degree Celsius heat the Magpies looked gone for all money at half time.  But as Digger remarked Adelaide should have been 15 goals up at that stage and killing it.  Collingwood played a mighty third quarter, Adelaide rebounded in the last but the Collingwood boys fought back and won in a nail biter.

But they will find it harder this week up against Geelong.  The Cats bring back Rooke (a key) and Steve Johnson (a gun) while the Magpies regain their mid field leader in Pendlebury.  All three must be risks.  Collinwood’s defence needs to be tight as I still say they do not have enough goal kickers to win finals.  Their forwards must also be aware that Geelong will continually run the ball out and start their attacks from the back line.

For me, Geelong by about 5 goals.

I like St. Kilda to knock the Western Bulldogs out of the Premiership race.  Too many key forwards and not enough help for Brian Lake.  However don’t under estimate the pace and continual run of the Bullies.  It will be a very tight match with the Saints aerial supremacy getting them over the line to a 3 goal win.
