What a fizzer the big ANZAC match between Essendon and Collingwood was as the Magpies ran out easy winners.  The scribes and so called experts are now screaming for the ANZAC  clash to be shared among other teams.  Well you will get that next year when ANZAC day falls on a Saturday.  More injuries to the Bombers and after a promising start to the season the road ahead looks bleak.

Fremantle almost caused a boil over against Geelong and can count themselves a tad unlucky.  Never leave Matthew Pavlich on the bench in your fantasy team.  The Cats scrape home and Cameron Ling now holds the record for playing in the most consecutive winning games.

Adelaide had a determined win over Carlton who again tired the longer the match went.  Some good youngun’s though the Blues.

Western Bulldogs worried the West Coast when winning by 10 goals.  In a shock, West Coast coach John “The Pharmacist” Worsfold declared that his team cannot make the finals despite 16 games remaining.  Consider that the Eagles still have 15 premiership players running around.  The Doggies continue to impress.

Port Adelaide handed the St. Kilda team another defeat and the much vaunted Saints forward line cannot kick goals because their midfield cannot get the ball down fast enough.  Loosen up Saints.  Power gun Chad Cornes busted a finger and will miss a month.

Brisbane blitzed Melbourne but Melbourne won the last quarter again.  Maybe they need to play 7 sevenths rather than 4 quarters.  Bradshaw leads the John Coleman goal scoring.

Did he tough it, why did they have 19 men on the field and another AFL fine for the Sydney team.  The new North Melbourne and the old South Melbourne had a draw in a low scoring contest and nobody is happy.

In the final game Hawthorn was able to hold off a tenacious Richmond team by a mere 12 points.  The Tigers are in good form having drawn with the Bulldogs the week before.  Gee, Hawthorn looks a real challenger to Geelong.

Carlton hosts the West Coast and Friday night and this game this game may have some spite, spice and space.  Chris Judd faces his old team for the first time, as does Josh Kennedy and Josh Kennedy could play on Josh Kennedy.  Confused, so was I.  I reckon the Blues will defeat the defeatist Weagles.

The Brisbane team are off to Kardinia Park to meet Geelong.  Digger has delved into the pond and sees an upset occurring when Brisbane’s corn holders all click on the same day.  Brown, Bradshaw and Brennan to kick16 goal between them and give Geelong the shake up they deserve.

Hawthorn should have a percentage booster over Collingwood if Buddy can kick straight.  1 goal 7 behinds last week is not the conversion that Hawthorn wants.  Collingwood were okay last week but will be given a football lesson this week.  Hawks to be table toppers by rounds end.

Richmond must maintain form to beat the St. Kilda.  They will and Ross Lyons tenure at Moorabin could be embarrassingly short.

In other games, Adelaide to beat North Melbourne, Western Bulldogs to take the chockies over Sydney and Melbourne to have their first win of the year over Fremantle.

Finally, Essendon, with the inclusion of three first gamers will be buoyed by the kids enthusiasm and will upset Port Adelaide missing the finger.

Stay cool under fire,

Digger
