Okay, the wandering Fool has given me the heads up that he is publishing this week.  Gee I hope he didn't go to Italy, we might never see him again. 

Goal umpires dominated the press this week.  Seems they missed a behind.  Well, if they got over their theatrics maybe this would not happen!  Both the Fool and Digger are accomplished goal umpires and have never made a mistake. 

Last week, all teams that were placed second to seventh lost their games.  I did declare that the top 8 was sealed a few weeks ago which proves that even Digger can get it wrong. 

AFL GRAND FINAL IN HCMC UPDATE 

Terry Daniher, former Essendan great who started his career at South Melbourne will be the special guest at this years function.  Terry is the oldest of 4 brother who played AFL for Essendon and all 4 brothers actually played in the same game at one point.  All 4 also represented New South Wales in a State of Origin Game. 

Tables of 10 can now be booked with Chris Paget or Darren Cotter with one ticket costing 50 USD.   

Let's look at this weeks round of matches. 

Collingwood, placed sixth and on 36 points take on Hawthorn, third and 52 points.  Collingwood had a shocker last week while the Hawks were gallant in defeat going down to Geelong.  We need only to go on form for the result of this one which will see the Hawthorn boys have a solid victory. 

As an aside, can someone have a word to Simon at the Blue Gecko and tell him it is not Howthorn.  2 weeks in a row! 

Essendon, 12th and 28 points tackle Melbourne 16th and 8 points and the Bombers will record a healthy win.  The Dons are still a rough finals chance and cannot afford to let this one slip. 

Adelaide Ravens who are seventh and on 36 points host Carlton 11th and 32 points in a crunch match.  Carlton had their best win for seasons last Sunday when they ran all over the top of the Western Bulldogs.  The Ravens had a good win as well and back on their own dung heap will be very hard to beat.  However, Digger sees this years Blues as more consistent than the Ravens and tips a Carlton victory. 

Geelong, clearly on top with one loss and 64 points host the revitalized Richmond (10th, 34 points) team coming off 2 memorable come from behind victories.  If the Tigers get the recently pole axed Graham Polak in the rooms before the game this may give them the necessary boost to cause an upset.  However, Geelong will be a tad to strong and record a comfortable win.

North Melbourne currently 5th and on 38 points tackle the Brisbane team who are 8th and on 36 points in what should be a cracker.  The Lions should have cemented their place in the 8 by now but have had an inconsistent streak similar to the Adelaide boys.  I am going for North but only as the game is in Melbourne.  Oops, the game is on the Gold Coast which means Digger is tipping the boys from Brisbane. 

Two struggling top 4 teams meet this weekend and they would be Western Bulldogs and Sydney.  Suddenly the passion seems missing and games that should be won are lost.  Sydney has been hit by a few injuries while the doggies seem to be celebrating too early in the games and losing their way.  However, Digger seems to think that the Dogs will come out on top this weekend.  Does any team want 4th spot? 

St. Kilda look likely to jump back into the 8 this week when they come up against the most lacking team of 2008 in the Port Power.  Commentators with more knowledge than Digger think something is drastically amiss at Alberton but cannot point their finger on it.  Apparently 86% of Port followers like to shower with a friend, the other 14% have never been to prison.  The Saints to win. 

Finally this week, the Perth Derby.  If Cox plays it's the Weagles, if he doesn't it's the Mentals.
