afl's offerings...

As Digger, Trigger, Nigger and Jigger are off to a family reunion this weekend and no teams have been named I will be brief this week.

The top three teams, all undefeated although the Western Bulldogs have drawn, all fought back from decent leads to show why they are the best in the business.

Hawthorn came from 6 goals down to overwhelm the Powerless, Richmond were looking good against Geelong until the Cat pack rallied and had just a so so win while the Western Bulldogs had the Mental's supporters wringing their hands again.

Other winners last week were an impressive Collingwood over a stagnant St. Kilda.  The Brisbane team bought the Carlton lads back to earth, North Melbourne were also come from behind winners over the luckless West Coast while Sydney and Adelaide absolutely thumped Essendon and Melbourne respectively.

Just going back to North's win for a tick, the AFL will have a team on the Gold Coast by 2010 because they say "this is one of the most developing areas of AFL in Australia".  On television it looked like a country match and the official attendance was a tick over 6,300.  They get 14,000 in Tassie!

This week (winners in bold)

Collingwood V Geelong

Carlton V Fremantle

Port Adelaide V Sydney

West Coast V Adelaide

Essendon V Richmond

Brisbane V St. Kilda

Hawthorn V Melbourne

Western Bulldogs V North Melbourne

Until then .............
