A novelty team with a twist (Ouch).  Apologies to all listed AFL player named Thomas or Richards but with these great names available you do not make the grade.

Backs:  Trent Knobel                Richard Cole               Paddy Ryder

H/Bck: Brett. Peake                Daniel Chick                Brennan Stack

Cent:    Josh Wooden               Luke Ball                     Nic Fosdike

H/Fwd: Graham Johncock        Cameron Wood           Jed Adcock

Fwd:    Matthew Stokes          Jeremy Humm Andrew Swallow

Rucks:  Dean Cox                    Chance Bateman         Matthew Bates

Int:       Matthew Leuenberger, Albert Proud,  Shannon Cox, Brad Dick, Tyson Goldsach, Jason Laycock, Adam Cockshell

Digger really thinks that this team will be hard at the ball, tight in the clinches and what about that forward line.

There has long been discussion and thought that the judicial system lets offenders off lightly but is the responsibility of Commandant Andrew and his cadre can give additional penalties to players who misbehave?  Surely this another case of stepping over the mark of their responsibilities?

The AFL would be better off spending some time on looking at where they are making themselves look like fools.  Example, this week in the semi finals of the NAB Cup, Brisbane fly to Melbourne to take on Geelong and meanwhile two Melbourne based teams fly to Queensland to play on the Gold Coast.

At least Geelong who spent two hours circling the airport in Darwin last Thursday and then a 2 further hours sitting on the tarmac while a lightning storm struck only have to hope in the family sedan and drive up the highway.

Footy tipping will start soon so let Digger know at diggerafl@yahoo.com.au if you wish to be in this fantabulous competition.  The knockout comp. will be on again as well and more "expert" tipsters will be on hand to test the skills of HCMC's finest.

In other news, new Sydney player Spida Everitt and his former hawthorn team mates are under police investigation for a fund raising raffle for the end of season trip.  Spida who drew the winning ticket actually drew out his managers winning ticket and the manager immediately donated the cash to the trip fund.  Eerie eh?

Geelong continues to surprise.  Today it has appointed Cameron "Brain Explosion" Mooney as deputy vice captain.  Digger just wonders how long he goes this season without getting suspended.  And with a name like Mooney he was pretty stiff (get it) not to get in the team above.

Next week a run down on your teams chances for this season.

Digger
