Well things just seem to get stranger and more ridiculous down at Carlton.  This week Financial Director Marcus Rose came out and told the media that unless the club could radically turn around their financial situation that within two years they may need to merge or move interstate.  The club is currently $8,000,000 AUD in debt.

The next day Rose backed down somewhat on his statement and like a lot of Carlton types in recent time he then resigned.

Carlton coach Dennis Pagan has stated that the players are far removed from the clubs financial plight and are just looking forward to getting on the paddock and are having "their best pre-season ever".

Next Friday the 9^th of February sees the first real meaningful match (practice) of 2007 when Essendon travel to the top end to take on the Aboriginal All Stars at TIO Stadium in Darwin.  When Digger sees the team he will tell you what he thinks of it.  Maybe we will get the game on Australia Network.  Then again we might not!
