A Serial Offender

More boozing footballers in the news this and this time from down Sleepy Hollow way.  Wayward crumbing forward Steve Johnson was arrested for drunkedness and spent 4 hours in the cells in his hometown of Wangaratta.   What has the Geelong Football Club angered is that Johnson did not inform the club and it was 9 days before they got wind of the situation.

I suppose that the club has to know as Johnson is recovering from surgery and should not be on the piss let alone being drunk enough to be arrested.  A couple of years ago he spent time in the Geelong lock up after a spat with team mate Andrew Mackie and was made to apologise to the playing list.  A couple of years earlier he broke his ankle jumping the fence at the Torquay Hotel.  The plod was not involved in the incident.

More to come next week when the Catland Board returns from holidays but surely his days must be numbered.

Richmond player Andrew Krakouer and his brother Tyrone have appeared in court charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm.

Apart from a future court appearance the Aboriginal community may invoke a traditional Aboriginal payback should the court decision not satisfy the elders of the Nyoonga tribe.  Payback can come in the form of a spear in the arm or the thigh or a bloody good beating with nulla nullas - aborigine fighting sticks.  Remember the movie The Chant of Jimmy Blacksmith?

Rumor has it that former Geelong and Brisbane ruckman Damian Bourke could be in HCMC some time in January looking for a few beers.  Digger will keep you informed of any further news.

Kangaroo coach, Dean "Junkyard Dog" Laidley has been involved in a fracas with a caravan park manager while on holidays in bush NSW.  Apparently his son was involved in a blue with another teenager of guess what - of course a Sheila.
